MY STORY

I was first mesmerised by jewels belonging to my mother and grandmothers. However, it was the opulent jewels in institutions such as the V&A and The Louvre, and those of the British Royal Family that really caught my attention. And then, when working in the press office of Christian Dior on Avenue Montaigne in 2000 whilst  in Paris as part of my French degree, I came across Victoire Castellane’s contemporary fine jewellery – and of course the boutiques of Place Vendôme and Rue de la Paix. I was in love! When I left university, I worked in a PR agency in London which had as clients Bulgari and Ritz Fine Jewellery – and I learnt about the magnificence and multicoloured world of precious and semi-precious stones, and the sumptuous designs they could be set in.

Following a year in Cape Town and after a few years in London working in the restaurant and hotel PR industry, I secured the job of a lifetime as Head of PR at Graff Diamonds. Here I worked on all aspects of Graff’s jewellery PR/ marketing and the chairman/ founder’s PR as well as launching the company’s philanthropic arm, FACET, and organising a fundraiser at Christie’s London. I also launched Graffiti, the client magazine. Thanks to Laurence Graff, not only did I learn about the most precious of gemstones, and actually hold some of the most priceless diamonds ever discovered, I visited the Cullinan Mine in Pretoria, RSA where the world’s largest diamond was discovered in 1905, and which is now in the British Crown Jewels/ Royal Collection. I also launched Graff Delaire – a five star spa hotel and restaurant near to Cape Town.

I left Graff for a job in Monaco, working for a gold mining firm and then after three years in Buenos Aires, where I worked with two antique jewellery firms doing their PR and blogs – I returned to the UK with a self-published novel under my belt. I have since then written three more in the Jemima Fox Mystery Series. And have a million more mysteries up my sleeve!

I have written for many publications (see articles) about fine jewellery, royal jewellery and precious stones, for several years. Since April 2023, I now write extensively on historical royal jewels for MailOnline, having covered the history of the Crown Jewels for the Daily Mail prior and during the coronation; and have since become the go-to for any royal jewel news at the Daily Mail.

I copywrite for international fine jewellery houses, including a Melbourne based brand, and other luxury brands. In May 2020 I was interviewed, and helped to produce, a Channel 5 (UK) documentary on Tiffany & Co; and in September 2022, I was interviewed live on GB News Breakfast about the jewels of the late Queen, on the morning of her state funeral.

I live on the Dorset/ Wiltshire borders with my husband, two children, two dogs, and two canaries, that I inherited from my late father.
